.ZA prices set to sky rocket

.ZA prices set to sky rocket

.ZA prices are set to rise in the next 3 years, with domains registered on the Legacy System taking a 67% hike. By the March 2017, users can expect to R125.40 per year for domains still on the legacy system. EPP System Transactions can also expect a price hike with the cost price for .co.za, .web.za, .org.za and .net.za clocking in at R57.00 per year.

UniForum South Africa, which trades as the ZA Central Registry, hopes to encourage Internet service providers and other entities that provide domain registration services to move to the EPP system.

This is one of a number of price changes UniForum, trading as the ZA Central Registry (ZACR), will institute from the beginning of March 2015.

ZACR cites a steady increase its operational capacity over the past 3 years and the introduction of new domain name services to the South African and African markets (.Joburg | .CapeTown | .Durban and .Africa), as primary incentives for the proposed price hike.

The planned price increase is scheduled to be gradually introduced over the next three years pending approval from ZADNA.

Rest assured, however, that here at Frikkadel we'll try our meaty best to keep our prices as low as possible.
