POP mail with evolution

By default, Evolution will try to determine the best email protocol based on the email address given when you create the account. I'm not sure how or why it chooses some of the settings it does, but you can change them when setting up a new account.

After you enter your email address in the "Add Account" section, press the "Skip Lookup" button. You'll then have the option to choose the protocol, port, and receive & sending addresses - - POP is one of the selections in Evolution 3.10.4. If you miss the "Skip Lookup" button and it chooses a protocol automatically, just press "Go Back", and you'll then be able to change it to POP if necessary.
